I just had to share this with you before I fix my lunch. I just returned home from my weekly massage. My massage therapist Debra was one of the friends to whom I planned to gift the “Lighten Up” cd. She ended up playing it during my massage session (we got as far as your husband sharing about the rainbow technique when my session ended). I gave it to Debra, as I had given it to Chris, with only them in mind. But Debra, just as Chris, told me that she knew several clients who would benefit from listening to the cd—and that she planned to go to your website and order copies for people. I had the cassette tape sitting in my collection for years before I finally decided to listen to it. When I listened to it several months ago, wonderful energy things began to happen, and I began to notice the positive impact my energy was having on others. I feel fortunate to be a means of getting the message out to more people by sharing what I’ve experienced listening to the program and now by sharing copies with others.
There is hope because “Only Love Prevails.”

I began listening to your lighten up tape this morning. I am enjoying it, and my 4 year old daughter even said, ‘Mommy, I am enjoying listening to this.’ I was pleasantly surprised. Then she told me an answer she got from her body about something that had been bothering her physically. :)
I am a Course in Miracles student, and my husband and I recently wrote a book called The Journey That Never Was about how to hear God’s Voice. After we wrote it, the Holy Spirit and I were talking and the Holy Spirit said that even though everyone has this Internal Voice, people did not love themselves enough to choose to hear it. And then suggested that I write a book on loving ourselves. Since that is what I most need to learn, I am really enjoying this process. I will begin your 5 minute a day suggestion and see what happens…

Dear dear Carol, I’m on day 3848 of doing lighten up. Well over ten years. Greg Tamblyn got your cassette into my hands when he sang at our church. I saw him recently and thanked him once again. I decided I should e-mail you again as well. I’ve counted the days since I began so I could form a new habit. And then I continued counting the days because it made me happy! My morning Lighten Up habit soon blossomed into several other additions which now make up my morning meditation. Lighten Up will always be a part of that ritual, so I’ve now decided to quit marking the days. But I couldn’t quit until I sent you another e-mail. If you never accomplished another thing in your lifetime, what you have done to help me would certainly get you through the pearly gates! I have healed so many things on so many levels. A Course in Miracles has helped my too, as well as my Unity Church. Thank you so much for being one of my sacred contracts. Only Love Prevails is a phrase I see and use every day. With each day that passes, I understand it better and see endless examples of its truth. Thank you for that as well.

Hello Carol. This is my six year Lighten Up Anniversary week. This is the sixth anniversary of my second chance in life because of you. I am so grateful for that day in Corte Madera when I attended your workshop. I can not even imagine where my life would be right now if it weren’t for you sharing your story and the process of Lighten Up. I know this for sure, my life would never have been as rich as it is today or as glorious as it has been these past six years. Dear Carol, Working in the spiritual realm as a psychic counselor, I have always had a deep abiding faith in Divine Intervention. Having struggled with a weight problem since I was very young, and throughout my 54 years, losing hundreds of pounds only to gain it back. Plus, my physical body began to feel the brunt of all the weight, especially my knees which no longer had cartilage—standing or walking longer than 5 minutes is extremely painful. Wracked with pain and fever, I cried out to God for help—I was at the point of surrender and though I was going to die. In sharing my dilemma with a friend, she offered to send me your Lighten Up tape. The day it arrived I was running a fever and in so much pain. I listened to it and at its conclusion I cried tears of joy. My prayer had been answered!

Dear Carol, Thought I’d update you on how Lighten Up has changed my life and continues to do so. More than physical changes, although I have lost approximately 15 pounds, are the emotional changes. Having never had a role model to mirror love—it’s always been illusionary. I now find myself much more loving and this is being mirrored back to me. I am falling in love with ME! What a wonderful gift. The mirrors come in many different ways—from Thank you’s, flower, cassette tapes, and so much more. It has also enhanced my spiritual path. Speaking of God’s love is so real to me since I’m now loving the Godd-ess that walks inside me! Again, thanks so much, keep up the wonderful work you’re doing. You are truly a gift.

I have lived my life with a birth defect. The muscles in my left shoulder are constricted which causes it to curve down toward my chest. Years of physical therapy and other medical treatment have had no effect. After only two weeks of doing the Lighten Up process my shoulder has straightened out. Dear Carol, I attended the Unity Women’s Retreat at Flat Rock last weekend where you presented your workshop. I began your Lighten Up process on Monday morning. Tuesday morning after my shower, I was standing in front of the mirror and began by running my fingers through my hair saying, “I love you, hair. You used to be what I considered my best feature—blond and curly. I use color now and the curls are gone but I love you anyway.” I then proceeded with the process using lotion over my entire body and giving thanks and love. I put on my make-up then looked in the mirror and noticed my hair was a mass of curls! Instead of blowing it out and using a curling iron like usual, I let it dry naturally and went to work with a head full of curls! Everyone thought I had gotten a perm. My hair was curly as a child and remained that way until after my marriage 30 years ago! I mourned its loss. I was divorced two years ago and since have been on a spiritual path to find myself. I teach nursery school and have incorporated a modified version of your process into our daily activities. The children sing a song telling each body part how much they love it as they hug that part. We have been doing this for the entire school year and the change in the classroom is remarkable. It used to be common for the children to argue, fight and cry. The classroom has been peaceful and loving all year. The children now go out of their way to help each other and be considerate. These children range in age from 3 to 5. This process needs to be incorporated into our school system and supported by teachers and parents. It will change the world if our children grow up loving themselves.
